1. EDWARD LaCOUR, b. abt. 1760? in Jersey, Channel Islands. He emigrated to Newfoundland and purchased a fishing operation in Harbour Main in 1777. Married 1790 to MARY HICKS, daughter of John Hicks of Harbour Main. Their children were:
i. ELIZABETH LaCOUR, b. 1791. Married JAMES FUREY. See the Furey page.
ii. Grace LaCour, married 1799 to Michael Gorman of Harbour Main.
iii. Margaret LaCour
iv. Edward Crawley LaCour may have been adopted.

Is Margaret, the child of Edward (above), the same Margaret Lacour who married Felix McCarthy of Carbonear/Crocker’s Cove?
